This flick is making the rounds at the film festivals. Not a bad story line about a young boy who discovers his grandpa's WWII footlocker and insists that he be told the story about its contents: as the kid says' "It's Memorial Day, what am I supposed to remember." The Facebook link allows anyone to view content without having to join, but those wishing to contribute or reply need to have an account – just like most blogs. MEMORIAL DAY is a moving tribute to veterans so keep an eye out for the film in your local area. |

I hope this isn't politcal drivil. I'm sick of the typical Hollywood 'Soldier as Victim' meme that any modern war movie tends to use. |

I like that James Cromwell's son is playing him as a young man in WW II in the movie. I thought they had just made him up to appear young since the resemblance (and the voice!) was so striking, but John Cromwell is listed in the credits so I have to assume it's his son. |

From the thread title I was hoping for a WW2 Iraq film. It would have been great to see some inter/early war planes and Rolls Royce armoured cars on the screen. How disappointing. |
