THANKS, EJ! Words like that make it all worthwhile. :-)
The free models will stay on my webpages as long as they exist, although the coatneyhistory webpage has to be renewed every year, and I am 65, so print off what you need NOW. :-)
The plans for the book now stand at 32? I've just done the H-class leader Hardy (beached/destroyed in the 1st Battle of Narvik) and Helena CL-50 of Guadalcanal fame.
I'll be including my Naval Acton miniatures rules combat results sheet and may put the (rest of the) rules up on my coatneyhistory webpage.
They don't have legal size paper over here in Norway, and that is a big problem – I want to do these in the historical Office of Naval Intelligence Naval Vessels recognition format (but you'll have to supply your own shoelace for binding :-) ). As is everything produced in Norway, it will be hideously expensive. :-(
Ships to be included are:
Sleipner coastal destroyer DD
Sangamon class escort carriers (Only the Bogues are available in injection plastic) CVE
South Dakota/Alabama BB
San Francisco CA (Tuscaloosa PQ17)
Wichita CA (PQ17)
Brooklyn CL
Helena CL
Benson/Gleaves DD – all 4 variants
Sims DD
Bagley DD (16 tubes)
Butler DE
Monitor
*Rodney BB
*King George V BB
Norfolk/Dorsetshire CA (Norfolk PQ17)
London CA (PQ17)
Perth CL
Dido (and Black Prince?) CLAA
Charybdis & Scylla ("toothless terrors") CLAA
H class leader Hardy DL
H class DD (both long bridge and short bridge – I'll try to include quintuple/pentad mounts for the I class
we'll see)
*Tribal class DD
*JKN class DD
Hunt Type 1 ED
K class light cruiser CL
Z1 Maasz class DD
Moewe class torpedo boat TB
d'Abruzzi light cruiser CL
Navigatori DD
Jintsu/Sendai/Naka (it sounds like a snake) CL
Shigure DD
The plans will not be colorized. Inkjet dye ink fades and toner cracks over time. Painting is best for models. I *will* dtp-print the drawings in inkjet: better to have them fade some than chip away.
*Done for my 1:1200 set complementary to the Airfix Sink the Bismarck set – I had already done but not colorized Norfolk/Dorsetshire – but that scale may just be too difficult for people to do.
Again, thanks for your interest (and encouragement)!
