Kingsleypark's Wargaming Menagerie My first metal mini is 33 years old this year link So folks what was your first metal miniature? How did you come by it and more importantly, do you still have it? |

My first metal miniature would have been a Scruby 20mm ACW figure. Couldn't tell you the original catalog number but today we refer to it as: INFANTRY (in Kepi Hats) 2202 Standing, on guard These/these were used for conversions for FPW. I still have this first batch of figures, however, I couldn't tell which box they are hidden in. Bought at about the same time (or within a week or so) my next metal figures were Scruby N-Gauge Napoleonic. Still have these too – been re-based several times over the years. |

Sadly I no longer have my first metal miniature :( It was one of 12 Hinchliffe Roman legionaries. It would have been 38 years old this year. I bought him and his 11 mates from the local wargames shop when such things existed. I do remember that the box of 12 cost a princely 96 pence. |

Mine was a blister of Custom Cast Vikings, marching, spear on shoulder and shield at their left side. I still have all six of them, rather smallish 25mm figures, painted in Humbrol oils. Painted in 1978 they are 34 years old. |

A sample 15mm figure from Peter Laing and a 1/300 tank of some sort from Skytrex. Put me off metal for a while
..that was 1975 I think? Next up was a set of newly released Hinchliffe late Byzantines
1976
all got painted as well (which doesn't happen often these days). I gave them away some years later to Tony Cottrel who now works at Forge World. |

My first metal figures were a mini figs Gallic chieftain and a minifigs Greek officer. Bought in 1971 to provide leaders to my assorted Airfix figures. Over the next couple of years I bought myself a Hinchcliffe late roman Army. I still have all of them. |
