Armies, armies, armies. Scifi has tons of armies, but where do they live? Who makes those great barracks and bunkers? What would 10,000 soldiers do if there were no latrines? Never fear … It's tool time at Irrational Number Line Games' Idea of the Week.

An old Grenadier "space ranger" (now available at EM-4)with a big rotary saw? Heh! I like it! I've got a whole shoebox full of those! Only saw-less. Like 60 or so of them!

It's a robogear sawblade tool.

I gave a bunch of them (and pincers) to a mate who plays orks for his vehicle conversions).

I have three of the sawblades left, but they are already allocated to a terrain piece. I need a better sawmill for the Royal Kanadian Mutant Police campaign.

I only have one pincer left because I made a crab (tank) and scorpion (mech) out of the RoboGear bases.

What I really need is a good idea for the RoboGear fists. They are a little to hard to convert leftie to rightie, so I either need something with four left hands or some steampunk thing with radial symmetry … hmmmmmmmm …

I took a saw to one of mine and hacked the thumb off it.
A bit of sanding and trimming and it was grafted onto the opposite side (but the hand was also removed from its mount and rotated 180* as well.

A lot of work, but I ended up with two very large fists for a mate's Ork deff dread ("it's krumpin' time").

What kind of saw did you use? Brand? Size?
