Nice. I like that they thought to pull in the oars. I would think that the Romans would want to be a bit closer to use the corvus, though. Doug |

But I would think that this would be more in the nature of a reaction on the part of the enemy to the perceived threat of the thing, than in the actual physical use of the device. Here it has already been deployed, and it just barely grabbed hold of the enemy vessel. I don't think I'd want to let the thing fall without being a tad bit closer to make sure it does not miss entirely (and also perhaps a bit further back along the hull to make sure that if it does miss the deck, it might still hit the outrigger).
