Dammit man, you had my hopes up that someone had done a real mugato fig at last. Reanimated skeletal pirates covered in mutant plankton are a poor substitute at best. I suppose it's back to the "glue a horn and a tail on an Old Glory gorilla" plan for me. :) Incidentally, there are some other likely candidates in his Mystri Island and Little Carinthia ranges. The MI "spearbearer" insectmen are wonderfully rubbery-looky. |

I would say that if you can't get a "real" mugatu, then at least another cheesy (compliment) rubber suit (another compliment) monster is almost as good. It keeps the style and feel of the series even if it is not accurate. In 28mm there is a whole host of good figs for this genre in the Black Tree Doctor WHO range. All the paper mache and foam rubber monsters you could ever want there. And Chief Lackey, your solution is no different than the producers of the show, so why not!? -Eli |
