My favorite spacefighter, ever. Any SW video game, if I can fly it, I will. So straightforward and utilitarian. No moving wing bits, no spinning cockpit, no sleek fairing (anymore). Just does its job. |

Yeah, the F4F Wildcat of the Star Wars universe. Well armed, armored, slow, but really nasty in a fight. In SW Battlefront this bird can take a real licking and keep dishing it out. Its torps work nicely against capital ships and its blasters can smash any Imperial fighter with just a hit or two. Even Tie Bombers can't just shrug off a hit from a Y-Wing. My favorite fighter too! |

In 1977 I saw Star Wars for the first time and I got hooked into the franchise. When I was still in primary school I reasoned that, existing X- and Y-Wing fighters it was only a matter of time before a future Star Wars movie would have introduced the Z-Wing as well. I have been disillusioned each and every time. When I was a kid I did also draw hypothetical sketches of how it could have looked (complete with fictitious specs). |
