I finally finished painting and labeling my 1/6000th ships for playing Avalon Hill's classic game, Victory in the Pacific, with miniatures. I posted some pictures of the completed Allied ships to my blog. Earlier posts have my Japanese ships and the photos of the completed map and minis for my earlier conversion of War At Sea.

I have to get my map printed out and would like to base up some 1/1250 planes for the land-based air units, but I should be ready to play the game next weekend. This project has taken a long time, but it should be well worth it!

Those are really nice. The carrier decks came out really well!

Thanks Jake. The carrier decks are mostly decals printed using artwork from Toshach Miniatures. However, quite a few of the Japanese carrier decks, with camo in particular, are painted by me.

The transfers on the carriers look awesome. When I bought the Coral Sea and Midway fleets they didn't have transfers in thsoe days (about 15 years back!). Nice lloking fleets and terrain. How did you make the sea effect and the islands with jetty etc?

Many thanks from a pacific buff!

The sea and islands/port were am EBay buy! You could make the water using Liquitex blended fibre gel. I get it at Michael's….but most arts and crafts stores should have it. It is white in color but you can mix in paint if you want or paint it after it dries. I use it for basing 1/2400 scale ships.
