There is a write up on our coastal forces game at: link

So, which was best? – the Hunt type 2, or early class torpedo boats?

Sounds like fun.

"So, which was best? – the Hunt type 2, or early class torpedo boats?"

Probably depends upon which side's torpedoes are on target, at least for night actions. In that case, if I recall correctly, the Germans have more of them, so they probably have the advantage. British have the gun advantage, which is probably more useful in the daytime. Germans have a healthy speed advantage, so should be able to disengage at will, unless cornered, or damaged.

I've been wanting to give something like that a try for some time. Need to paint some ships.

Thanks for sharing your battle report, and photos.

Very nice looking vessels. Are they 1/600th scale?

Also, which rules did you use for the battle?

Nice job;
The ships looked great.
I'll echo what Mako11 asked…what scale and what rules.
Thanks for sharing;
Joe

"the Hunt type 2, or early class torpedo boats?"

Whoever has the better radar.

Hunt IIs will always lose in a torpedo based evaluation since they didn't have any. But then I'd be happy with that if I could you see enhanced situational awareness to ensure that the first my enemy knew of my presence was the burst of a starshell overhead and salvoes of 4" arriving in quick succession :)

Sounds like a fun game!

Yes, the rules are my own. I have made a couple of modifications which should be up on the club website soon. If you want a current copy please E-Mail me at richardbradley5@gmail.com and I will send the most up to date version!

The models are all Skytrex 1:600 Coastal warfare models.

Next time, I plan to use some 'H' class fleet destroyers, which have their own torpedoes…Heh heh heh!

Sounds good about the rules update.

Looking forward to that.

Thanks for sharing them, and your report/info/pics with us.

I have no problem calling those Type III, or IV Hunts, for a good game.

I've just put the new versions of Richard's rules up on the website.
