How playable is it? How do you avoid getting the trees knocked around?

It looks like a good compromise between
Whilst I admire your modelling skills, may I carp a bit about palm trees and jungles please?

1. I have worked in jungles in PNG, The Solomons, Indonesia, Venezuela, Peru and Honduras;
2. I have never seen large palm tree jungles, the trees are all deciduous, usually quite dark leaved and occasionally flowering (like 1 per 10 square km). They are all different.
2. Palms are generally in plantaions with cleared land beneath them;
3. The undergrowth in jungles can range from so dense as to be nearly impassable to as open as you show, at a minimum you should figure one man size bush per tree, at a maximum 20.
4. High altitude jungles generally have a doormat up to 3 metres thick of fibrous matter surrounded by black goo, essentially the remains of thousands of years of decomposition.

Another cool alternative is that I have seen pine cones shaved down to the core and used as trunks, they look great in 25mm then add the plastic bits from fern plants from the craft store.

Based on my all expenses paid "vacation" in lovely SE Asia in the late 60"s, I agree with Grizzlymc. However, that looks like a fun table for our toys. Why don't you give some info on construction, sizes, sources, etc.

Like StoneMtnMinis (hello btw), I was treated to an all expense stay in Thailand and Indonesia (amongst other of the world's "garden spots") beginning in the early 80s and I will agree that I rarely saw a palm tree in the jungle. Only on plantations and set back from the beach. Having said that, wargaming is about enjoyment and what looks good (as opposed to what's highly realistic). If you like the look you've created, then it's a 100% success!!

Thanks for the comments guys
I know that jungles arent made up only of palm type trees, but along with the "banana" trees in the pic and now also some ground level palm type plants they are the only type of tree I import and looking at real jungle terrain and also films made in SE.Asia there are many many palm trees around the place(check out "the killing fields" for example…..yes, made in Thailand ,I know, but still S.E.A.) and what says jungle more than palm trees?….another point is that being single stalked with a clump of leaves at the top ,they are very game friendly….how many "normal" trees would you get in the same area and still be able to move models around?
If anyone is interested in buying some email me
