Even science, for the every man, could almost be looked at as a faith-based religion.I know people will come screaming after me on this, but the average guy on the street only trusts and believes in science because he is told by a book or education that it works Equating "unjustified belief" with "religious faith" doesn't really work tho so if you do get people screaming after you it's somewhat deserved (-:<) |

DesertScrb is a wise man. You simply cannot argue with Mojo Nixon, let alone Mojo Nixon when he's got Skid Roper as backup. - Monk |

'Egyptians get particularly brassed off at the suggestion that 'those primitive Egyptians couldn't have made these big stone things. It MUST have been aliens'.' Remind me what they've done since the Black Death derailed their civilisation? |

I must be gullible as I think it's plausible ancient man was visited. Just because no-one wrote a book about them at the time and then based their whole doctrine on said book doesn't make it any less real or plausible. I do however watch THAT show with scepticism. Same as the other shows – be they about aliens, bigfoot or Jesus or whatever, there is no undeniable proof for any of them. I find the shows entertaining, which at the end of the day all that matters for me. |

"Plausible" is a bit strong word for something there is no evidence of. "Possible" would IMCO be better. |

Well I do find the Ancient Alien/Ancient Astronaut/Chariots of the Gods, etc. theories fascinating
However, I'm not smart enough to figure out the possibility or probability
but evocative none-the-less. And as surfer said, "entertaining"
Many of the people on the show are scientists, engineers, PHds, etc., knowledgable people, so some of their comments or even the questions they bring up are thought provoking. But we may never know what is true or false, or really what happened thousands if not a million years ago. So I guess
we'll just have to wait and see

Legion 4, Dude, I love the X-files! By the way, I just now did a search for the "I want to believe" poster and all kinds of weird stuff poppped up. This was one of them:
Do you think it means "I want to believe they are so caught up in their own silly conversation that I can run over those two before they even know what hit them"? :) Dan |
