The usual question! I have a family member over there at the moment who is asking where to find 'little soldiers' for me.

Does anyone know of any stores with Armies in Plastic in NYC, or York? Or 28mm historical. I know AIP are in the same State, but it isn't me that is there, and I'm not preprared to send a holidaying sister off on an errand when she should be enjoying the country.

A model train store called the Red Caboose carries them. They are in midtown. I think around 45th street between madison and fifth.

The Compleat Strategist us a game store on 34th (or is it 32nd?) near Park Avenue. Google it.

They have Battlefront stuff, GW, Osprey Books, lots of boardgames.

Compleat Strategsist, although NOT to be missed is not miniatures heavy. Across the river in NJ is Maplewood Hobby, which I have not yet gotten to but looks like a good bet for a minis player.

Selling miniatures while paying NYC rent does not sound like a sound business model to me. grin

Another vote for The Compleat Strategist on East 33rd St. (right before you get to 5th Ave. and the Empire State Building) as part of any tour of NYC if you are interested in gaming. They have plenty of board games, card games, books and magazines in addition to figures.

Have fun.
