I have just up-loaded some photos of the freshly painted French 102nd Line Infantry Battalion on to my blog: link

Great stuff, very inspiring.

Those Calpe figures look good, are they compatible with Perry plastics?

Don't know about Perry plastic as I only collect and paint metal miniatures. I currently have some Perry Young Guard on the painting table and I think Calpe infantry look fine next to them.

Thanks Raglan, I will give them a try.

Fons,

I think they would work together. Here is a review I wrote for Martin Kellys Befreiungskriege Blog, with notes on compatibility:

That being said… the Calpe minis are more pronounced in their sculpting then Perry. Since large portion of my French collection are Perry and Victrix anyway, I will not mind adding a few Calpe to the fold. On the other hand most of my Prussians are Calpe and I feel they are much nicer then Perrys so I will keep my Prussians almost exclusively Calpe.

Cheers,

Burkhard

P.S.: Sorry for the long post Raglan… did not want to steal the thunder from these beautiful minis of yours!!!

No problem mate, posting photos of painted units should be about provoking discussion.

Excellent painting and good to see a complete battalion of Calpe French!

I am sorely tempted to buy some but as I've still got 12 battalions of Calpe Prussians to finish it may have to wait until next year!

Cheers,

Paul
