Here we have a sneak peak at my upcoming 6mm sci-fi civilian pack.
There will be 10 different figures in the pack.

I have just received in the post 6 of the 10 greens.

Now my photography skills are average at best so take that into consideration please!
But the detail on them is excellent.
Eyes, facial hair, buttons and so on!
I am very excited.
Not only as they are very cool but because these are the sculptors first attempts at 6mm humans, so imagine how good they will be when he gets some experience!

We have:

Miner with shovel
Military news reporter in fatigues
Miner with sonic drill
Explorer with slung rifle and binoculars
Miner with grabber and breather mask

There are 4 more to come, including male and female heroes!

Covert Walrus06 Apr 2012 3:03 a.m. PST

First attempt at 6mm?

That is hard to believe – dr pepper dr pepper to the sculptor and my they continue to produce items as great as these are :)

Angel Barracks06 Apr 2012 3:18 a.m. PST

Lovely ! Who is the artist ?

whoa Mohamed06 Apr 2012 7:02 a.m. PST

I guess there are no women no children,, no commuters catching the 9:15 Hover train to work no schools no hospitals no emergency services no sanitation dept or anything but the bleak dark future where there is only "MINING"….Michael Keep up the excelent work at least your trying to produce new products.

Angel Barracks06 Apr 2012 7:06 a.m. PST

Maybe in time if these make enough money.
You never know.

(Major Disaster)06 Apr 2012 8:03 a.m. PST

There you go again Michael, trying to get me to give up 15mm for good wink evil grin

Great looking minis, by the way thumbs up

Tgunner06 Apr 2012 8:55 a.m. PST

Look at it this way, Whoa Mohamed, would you have found women, children, school teachers, nurses/doctors, or commuters at Jamestown Colony in 1607? Nope.

link

In fact, what you would have found would have been explorers, MINERS, traders, and semi-soldiers/adventurers. So this group seems like a great set for the first wave of pioneers settling a new world and trying to "make a buck". That's where true colonialism starts, right? It's this first wave of hardy souls who brave the "new world" and get things going so that the children, spouses, teachers, and commuters have a settled place to live and work.

So maybe this isn't a sci-fi civilian set as much as it's a sci-fi pioneer set.

RTJEBADIA06 Apr 2012 9:52 a.m. PST

Of course in the modern day that'd include women in those roles, which means you run the risk of having children a bit earlier than the colony is ready for it…

My own setting actually kinda runs into this as early colonies in space, not unlike the current ISS, dont' really plan on having children even though they have mixed gender populations.

Still, they do. So for awhile they try to ship pregnant women back to Earth (its rare enough that its not a huge deal) but after awhile they realize that they've got to let the colonies expand, and this leads to a much more rapid expansion of the human population in space in the relatively near future (next hundred, two hundred years) than expected as not only are people having kids but they're also shipping out people that you wouldn't need for a basic mining/research/spaceport colony… like teachers. And as population increases you need pretty much all the stuff you have in a modern small town thats highly self sufficient….

TheCount06 Apr 2012 9:53 a.m. PST

Yes, pioneers, that's the way to put it, I suppose. I'll try some true civvies at some stage, though, let's face it, pioneer types are a little more exciting. But I'm hoping to try my hand at all kinds, human or alien, in the future. And for the future!

Many thanks for the comments, for myself, your humble sculptor, and for Michael, who has dedicated himself to all things small and entertaining.

Cheers, TC.

Awesome Michael and great work by TheCount.

Just perfect for the FWC rescue the Colonists scenario.

Angel Barracks06 Apr 2012 10:31 a.m. PST

Indeed so.
There will be a VIP type person in the pack also.
Handy for getting to the starport as the bugs close in!

I can see me getting some 6mm sci-fi to try out. They just do it for me.

Angel Barracks06 Apr 2012 12:34 p.m. PST

Well TheCount has 4 more to finish and then they are off to the casters to be made.

I will keep you posted.

Mooseworks808 Apr 2012 7:35 a.m. PST

I am going to need a batch of these on my next order.

Smokey Roan09 Apr 2012 6:12 a.m. PST

Great job

Angel Barracks24 Apr 2012 6:24 a.m. PST

I have the next set partially planned in my head plus later this year I will be bringing out a set of troopers.

commanderroj24 Apr 2012 12:08 p.m. PST

Nice stuff. How about a tech on one knee using tools (sonic screwdriver?)for repairs. Civilian trike (moped like cross country bikes)riders (like those ones in the James Bond film "Diamonds are Forever")

Knockman24 Apr 2012 3:35 p.m. PST

Now they could be very useful. Well done :o)

Angel Barracks28 Apr 2012 4:22 a.m. PST

Cheers everyone.
They are currently at the casters…

Covert Walrus29 Apr 2012 2:36 p.m. PST

Such incredibly useful items – could even be used in Modern games as well. Definitely on my future orders list – dr pepper to you and your genius sculptor!

Angel Barracks01 May 2012 11:42 a.m. PST

Cheers.
I should have the samples fresh from casting back soon and then assuming all is hunky dory I will get me some stock.

I will be doing some more of a similar nature if these do well in the nost too distant future.
