Each year my thoughts to attend GENCON gencon.com increase. If I don't go this year then if at all possible I will attend in 2013. I was curious how many of you have attended? *Yes I went once.

No – but then it sounds more about 'gaming', less about exploring history (so I'm unlikely to be interested). I have done the UK Games Expo several times (in case you wanted to be a bit more geographically inclusive in your poll …) |

I went about 16 or 17 years ago. Not much there of interest to me, however I understand they host a lot more historical games now. |

I've been once, and want to go back, but haven't found the time to break away from the family for the 5-7 days to go and really enjoy it like I did back then! |

I really depends on the person. I went multiple times back in the late 80's early 90's and the went a few times in a row about 5 years ago. I was fun in the old days but I couldn;t get into it during the later trips. Maybe it's just age getting to me but a full 4 days of gaming with the crowds and hectic hassel of it wasn't as fun. Some of my buddies still go every year and love it but it just isn't my thing any more. Try and go at least once just to see how big the thing is and experience it but maybe consider a trip of a day or two that you can extend if you think it's really great. After that you can judge the return trips for yourself. |

Bit far for me I would like to attend a convention rather than show but I cannot see it happening for a few years at this rate. |

nevermissed a year when it was held in Kenosha and Milwaukee. I have been to Indy 3 times not bad but I guess I am a bit spoiled from having it in my own back yard for so long |

Several times. If I had to choose it or a big HMGS con I prefer the latter. Besides, everyone knows DragonCon is where its at nowadays! |

I've been to most the early one's last one I went to was the first year they ran it at UW-Parkside. I remember the one at The Lake Geneva Playboy club very well though. |

Yes to Parkside UW, Milwaukee Convention Center and Indianapolis. I don't go every year, but I usually have fun when I do. |

Went once when it was combined with Origins, so maybe '94? Never went back despite having a good time. Big conventions just aren't my thing. |

I've been a few times but since they moved to Indy. Registering and rooms were a nightmare last time I went so I stopped going. I'm sure that improved when they moved to Indy. |

I've been several times, and I'm going again this year! I love it! The sheer size of it makes it a spectacle in its own right, and it also means that you can find people excited about playing even the most obscure games 24 hours a day. |
