"Saukopf Mantlet on StuGs? Spares? Decals?" Topic

What time period and units would have used this mantlet? Was it confined to certain distribution or was it just randomly appearing as a variant throughout the StuG production and distribution?

Finally, anyone have any of the Battlefront ones they don't need? I'm told the mantlet was a variant in the Finnish blister, and it's included in the 5-StuG box set.

Oh, and if anyone doesn't want the Battlefront StuG decals from the box, let me know. Battlefront sells neither the mantlets nor the decals seperately.

Oh, and if any company has 15mm decals for StuG Abteilung or sells the mantlet individually please let me know!

The saukopfblende mantles was introduced in November 1943, for both the 75mm StuK 40 and the 105mm howitzer. It, however, never fully replaced the black mantlet, and both were produced right up to the end of the war, including variants with the coaxial machine gun.

How many barrels do you need?

I don't _need_ any, as I have the standard barrels for the StuGs that came with them – I don't want to misrepresent my situation as a gamer emergency where my StuGs have no barrels and look like Quaker StuGs!

I would _like_ several just to give variety to my StuG Battery Company for FoW, and I like the way they look, basically.
