Both units look fantastic. Very well done, I like them very much. I like all things AWI but I so much prefer the British in tricorne hats and long coat tails – shame they only sported them for the first couple of years of the war. |

Thanks everyone for the comments. I allowed myself a lot of licence in this project as I am redoing existing armies. To start, I will do a brigade each of British in tricornes and uniformed Continentals then do brigades of British in cut down uniforms and American militia. It's true that stars and stripes are not supposed to be used, but I have a few of the nice GMB flags that are too good not to use! |

Speaking of 40mm,whats good to use for flag staffs for 40mm figs? Bob |

Hi Matt. Thanks for that. I reside near (Glen) Campbelltown. Will keep plugging through and post updates from time to time. |

Speaking of 40mm,whats good to use for flag staffs for 40mm figs? Use North Star 100mm metal spears with leaf tip. You can trim them down to size. |

Where can I find them Fritz? Bob |

Strangely enough, On Military Matters sells them in the USA. |

Very nicely painted! I wanted to add this on British hats. Cocked hats/tricorns may have been reintroduced 1n 1778 when Clinton took over command from Howe. Clinton was not a fan of slouched hats and said something like a slouched hat begets a slouched soldier. There is at least one comment by a British Officer that they were ordered to cock their hats during the 1778 campaign. So I think there might be an option for cocked hats, cut-down regimental coats, and overalls on figures for later in the war. V/R Joe |

Finished the first Continental brigade. Sorry if the Stars and Stripes offends (@Bob/95th) but the flag was still in good condition when I was repainting the unit and seemed a shame to get rid of it

They look great Mick, checked out the link for some bigness and they looked even better, well done you. I got to get one of the guys interested, it's well up on my wannado. Bought some of Jim's (g'day Fritz) fig's when they first stuck their head above the parapets and they need some company. Maybe Black Powder Matt? regards dave |

Thanks again everyone. Basing is designed to be flexible. So they can be used for British Grenadier, Black Powder, Sons of Liberty Redux and they should work for Carnage & Glory II. Just picked up the latter and they look good and a bit different using the 'puter to work things out. By the end of the year I should have a couple of brigades and a few guns each side to run some simple games. |
