Is Rattrap's Fantastic Worlds going to be updated to .45 Adventure-type 2nd ed. systems? |

Yes. My buddy Marc is the author and he is working on second edition right now. I believe we will be play testing over the coming months. |

Oh, that's interesting. I'd been under the impression that most of Fantastic Worlds and Planet X got incorporated into the 2nd edition of .45 Adventures. (I don't have 2e yet) I wonder if they'll start up the deals to get the Hydra character minis again when it comes out

Fantastic Worlds is my favourite out of all their books! |

We are working on scenario books for 2nd edition. I have spoken with Marc about it and he has expressed an interest in working on ones for Fantastic Worlds. The rules will use the 2nd edition book, but he will do up scenarios, fluff text about the universe, and a new weapon chart. It won't be an all new rulebook. Once I have an actual manuscript in hand, I will be sure to post about it. |

Sorry, I'm very confused now. I'm afraid I haven't been keeping up with recent developments at Rattrap so this is all news to me. Operator5 – can you shed some light for me please? I don't own .45 Adventures, only Fantastic Worlds (plus Planet X and Broadsword Adventures). I don't know anything about the second edition of .45 Adventures. You said "the rules will use the 2nd edition book" and that it "won't be an all new rulebook". Does this mean I'll need to get the .45 2nd edition book in order to use new Fantastic Worlds supplementary material, or that there will effectively be a Fantastic Worlds version of the 2nd edition .45 rulebook with sci-fi flavour added? If you're able to provide any broad indications of the sorts of changes 2nd ed would bring, that would also be very helpful. Thanks |

IIRC Fantastic Worlds was more "advanced" than the original rules, incorporating some changes that (I suspect) were added to the 2nd edition of the .45 rules. |

The rule portion that will be in the book will use Second Edition rules. However, as it will be scenarios and fluff, the book will be useable with both the current Fantastic Worlds and doing Fantastic Worlds with the .45 Adventure 2nd edition rules. Essentially, if you have the current rules, you can play the scenarios. If you have the second edition of .45 Adventure, you'll be able to use the small weapon chart section to use weapons from Fantastic Worlds using the 2nd edition rules. Best of both worlds. Should make players of both rule sets happy. |

Rich has given me a choice of what I wanted to do with the first scenario book. I'm thinking some western flavored sci-fi may be a lot of fun. Marc |

Marc, I'd love to see that – sounds like it'd work perfectly. Let me see if I've got this straight
there will be a second ediiton of FW
or won't be, but there will be a scenario book that helps translate from 1st to 2nd? |

Marc is going to write a scenario book (If you follow us on Facebook you'll see a bunch of people imploring him to) and within that book Marc will have scenarios and some fluff text about the some of the worlds in the Fantastic Worlds universe. Along with that, there will be a weapon chart that will allow you to use the .45 Adventure 2nd edition rules to play Fantastic Worlds. The new edition of .45 Adventure allows you to build your own archetypes and as the rules were always essentially the same between rule sets only weapons, archetypes, and fluff were different, the addition of FW weapons in this scenario book will allow you to use them. Now, because the book will mainly be scenario and fluff, it will absolutely still be useable with 1st edition rules. So anyone who wants to stick with the original FW rulebook, can do so. Does that all make sense? Rich |

Two Years later, and it sounds like this project is finally a go. Fantastic Worlds V2 is in production. |
