How big, saw a dog frisbee at a pound shop the other day. add some detail and
a ufo? Cannot find a picture that shows something like it, but it was 8-10 inch across and had a raised bump in the middle, and a lip around the edge, with a central tube towards the bottom. It was orange/yellow plastic. |

Type "flying saucer model" into an ebay search. Testors had a saucer model called S4, link also a kit called Roswell both in 1/48 scale. link Atlantis makes a saucer in 1/48 as well. link Product Enterprise made UFO and a UFO Interceptor diecast from the Gerry Anderson TV show "UFO" which are in about 1/48 scale. link I have an old Monogram "Invaders" Flying Saucer kit which is on landing legs and has a removeable roof thats very retro 1950's. I intended tp use it in a game manned by some small 25mm Eureka Miniatures Greys, very old kit and hard to find now. link There are some kits out there but you have to "want to believe". |

If you will settle for single seaters link the other models are probably about the same size, but look like they would carry a crew. Here is another link to the Atlantis kit. link Pegasus makes 2 saucers link link Three, if you have a sense of humor. link |

Check out your local grocery chain, look for pot pies, some large ones have a black plastic bottom with a clear top, buy two, glue the two black ones together then add a small tupperware superstructure on top, paint and add landing struts from where ever. Voila! |

I have the Pegasus 1/72 Area 51 UFO. Slightly small maybe for 28mm, but not if you imagine the pilot(s) lying down. The other one I have is the Jupiter II, in silver, 18" diameter: link

The semi-assembled model kits in this photo are: Pegasus Hobbies – The War of the Worlds Martian War Machine, 148 scale (no landing gear, but does come with a flight stand) Pegasus Hobbies – Area 51 UFO, which does come with snap-in landing gear. It says 1/72 scale, but really appears usable in most scales. Pegasus Hobbies – Alpha Centuari Flying Saucers, 1/32nd scale but easily converted to 28mm scale. These come with landing gear, 3 blade like legs. Hawk/Lindberg/Atlantis Hobbies UFO, this is 1/48 scale. It doesn't have landing gear, but instead a flight stand. |

ya know, you could convert one of those 'Alpha Centauri' saucers to a 'Spaceman Spiff' saucer with just a few TWEAKS (and doing your own Spaceman Spiff figure???) Or
put one or two of the 'boys from Rigel VII' from Simpson's Treehouse of Horror' in as pilots instead??? link Slishfully, Sgt DWW-btod |

I should probably go over to LAF and see if I can challenge anyone for a proper Calvin/Spaceman fig conversion. ;->= Doug |

I just saw transparent plastic anti-squirrel bird feeder protectors that would work well for a UFO at ACE hardware. Use one for a flat bottomed convex disc or glue two together. At 17 USD a pop they are a bit pricey though. The diameter is comparable to the Testors S-4 UFO. |
