So if you are playing a game (where you can choose at least some of the stats yourself) are you willing to give your own nations forces a slight edge because you think they are or were better then the oposition?

In other words…

If you are German will your Wehrmacht always shoot better then the Allies?
If you are French will the Grande Armee always have the better morale?
If you are American will your M4īs always shoot further then the other assault rifles?

Possible answers:

Yes
No
I never play my own nationality
I never play games that do not have the stats set in stone by the developer

No.

I think English Longbows are generally over-rated, Richard I, too. On the other hand I got slammed on a Yahoo group for suggesting British Napoleonic musketry was better than the French (showing my small-minded anglo-centric perspective, apparently …) … so perhaps I do grin

Dynaman878919 Mar 2012 3:46 a.m. PST

No. I use whatever the sources for a particular battle suggests.

No, I try as fair and objective as possible.

However as I'm British and culturally inclined towards modesty, it probably means I under-rate British troops….

No. That would just be silly.

No but I think that some rules writers do!

Same here! I noticed in the Battlefield Evo: World At War rules….it just so happens that the Tiger Tank is faster than the Sherman…among other horrendous OP'd values for certain famous bits of German armour and artillery….

I would prefer that my Americans not wander around like the wide-eyed innocents that "Trained" means in FoW, and actually take cover and dig in like Willy and Joe would.

I do not, but I understand that people from countries other than my own often do so.

:)

I don't have to: my elite Old Guard Navy SEAL Companion Cavalry unit *is* the best.

Nah.

Not necessary. My Karpathian Kuirassiers are already Elite Superplus (+5 on a D6).
