Anyone tried to make stuff for 15mm using the hurts molds?

I'm really interested in mold #326 and #327. I'm leaning towards using them and the pipe molds to create a refinery in 15mm. The set is designed to make machinery in 28mm so I figure it could make industrial buildings in 15mm.

Examples would be Great!

The only thing I see that is a scale clue are the control panels and the chairs.

The one you want to talk to is Spacejacker. His blog, Tiny Solitary Soldiers, has massive amounts of stunning terrain work, including some stuff with Hist Arts molds.

There's someone else who also did a lot of Hirst stuff, but I can't recall who they are offhand.

Here is a quick shot of the small pipeline size and a couple 15mm for scale. These are the only pieces I had cast up still as I haven't used the mold in a while so they are pretty banged up/broken but it should show what you need.

I have the following scifi molds; 301,302,303, 271,272,273, 277,278, 321, 325, 327

If your interested in seeing something specific let me know.

I have a bunch of bits I ordered to evaluate… A lot of what is produces is effectively scale-less.

I wonder if, with today's tech, finer and smaller detail could be produced in plaster.

Is the pipe-looking piece in the middle of mold 97 really as detailed as it looks in their line drawings?

One of the guys in our group just purchased a ton of the molds. He is working on some great videos that show you the detail and tips to cast them.

He did the decent board project and posted videos of the process.

He is working on space hulk now. Only 2 videos done but the second one shows what comes out of the casts.

I'm considering having him cast a few piles of parts for me from 326,327, and the smaller pipe mold. Then I can play with them and get an idea of what can be made.

All of the molds I have will cast just as detailed as any of the line drawings show.

Typically you will have problems removing the parts from the mold and breaking them until you learn the tricks on each mold(what order to remove parts/where to hold and flex)

I've cast with all kinds of materials and they always come out fine… if there is a problem is was my mixing or demolding that causes the problem.

Oh and bubbles… cursed bubble!

Always add a drop of jet blue, the dishwasher additive, helps bubbles and release from molds.

Sold off my 12 moulds as I moved to 15mm and the ones I had were just too big.
Mostly fantasy stuff, hope he makes a few 15mm sets.
Nice stuff.

I've bought casts from several sources, but end up setting aside about 80% of the stuff because it looks too bulky for 15mm.

Someone needs to start making and selling silicone moulds specially made for 15mm!!!!!!!!!

These piperuns are from Hirst Molds. GZG (mostly) 15mm figures for comparison. I bought them as castings from an authorised reseller.
