Did they come with the sails or did you have to add your own?

Excellent job on the rigging, old boy! Real Bristol fashion, I say!

Sails are scratch built from plastic styrene.
Thanks again for the encouragement!

Wingnut, how do you store your ships?

Mako1116 Mar 2012 12:52 p.m. PST

I'd like to know that too, plus how you transport them safely?

wingnut16 Mar 2012 2:55 p.m. PST

I actually built a cheap transport system from wood, heating conduit and magnetic sheets.
Each one of my ships has a magnetic sheet cut to match the hull line and glued on the bottom. I then built frames out of 2 by 2's that form a box and nailed sheet metal conduit flat to the bottom of each frame. The unrolled conduit is about 3ft by a foot precut from most big box hardware stores. The frames are reinforced and sturdy so they are stack well. Before we go to a con we shrink wrap the individual crates. We're building more this weekend for the new ships.

Wingnut,

Hope you're game goes great – and hope you wait until after to read this if you are pressed for time. Ours went great – but I was in final prep for 18 hours the day before and only got 4 hours sleep. Survived to run the game and we had somewhere between 23 and 25 players. Report and photos on the blog as soon as I can get them up.

Pirate games are cool and Giant Pirate Games Rule the Waves – Britannia be damned! : )
