Attached are images of my 1st battalion for the Fusilier Brigade under Blucher at Auerstedt. This is Fusilier Battalion #4 of the 1st Warsaw Brigade.

These are AB minatures from their Jena Prussian line.
Thanks for looking.

These were painted for the la Bricole Forum Napoleonic painting contest. To view more of my 1806 Prussians, check out Paul's Blog at the link provided. While you're there also check out some amazing paint jobs on Paul's figures.

Thanks again,
John

Really nice painting!

Most 28mm figs I see aren't this well done.

Von Blucher,
I really like your work. Especially the terrain. What do you use for the grass or how do you make it?
Thanks for any help!

GDrover, Larry R, 1st502Strike, & KniazSuvuruv, thank you for your kind comments. As a painter and gamer, you always think you could of done a better job. I'm sure you've been there too, with the same feeling.

isttexas- Thank you for your comments, also.

These were done a little differently than some of my other figure basess. I think as I get into my rebasing project I'm going to stick with this though.

First I just glued fine earth brown balast to the bases and waited till the next day to dry. I then used watered down white glue again to certain area's and sprinkled static grass on. I let this dry again and shake off all the loose material. I than dry brush a Vallejo sand color onto the the open earth area. This way you end up with the earth tones a little darker by the grass area's then the open ground area's. It seems to work pretty well.

I have done 2 other basing methods, but I seem to like this one the best. Besides one of my earlier methods the material I used is not produced anymore.

Very nice. I love the army and have it 28mm. Too bad most rules penalize you to the point that it is no fun. But great looking battalions!

Esquire,
What rules do you play? As I'm using GdB and some initial run through with the 1806 Prussians, the biggest obstacle seems to be order changes by the Brigade and Division commands, based on their ratings. The troops ratings range from Line, Veteran, & Elites, which are not as high against the French for this time period. We do give a couple of restrictions to them, which follow historically how they performed at the battles at Jena and Auerstedt though.

isttexas,
Just in case you were talking about my terian boards, they're the old Geo Hex hex terian baords, that I've had for years. I did update them a little a few years ago by adding Woodland Scenes fine flock, I had mixed up 3 different colors and sprayed on the woodland scenes glue and spinkled all over them. Any touch ups for the earth color was handled by a color, Howard Hues produces called Geo Hex Brown.

Nice painting John,
As you already know I'm impressed how well the colour scheme came out.
