Earlier this week TMP'er Black Android (who has been doing a really cool Macross project) asked me to post a few shots of my 1/200 Zentreadi stuff. (http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=259292) So here are a couple of photos:
More here: link Also want to acknowledge the really cool work of TMP'er Mech Dude. Great stuff guys! |

Excelsior! Now, how about the Veritech fighters? |
Greg B | 01 Mar 2012 9:48 a.m. PST |
@ Jay Arnold – Thanks. As for the VTs, I was too lazy to dig them last night, but you can see some pictures of them here: link At some point I'll do a little photo parade of my RDF/UN Spacy stuff to match this one. |

WOW. Those look fabulous. |

I'm jealous! Your models really look great, Greg B! |
ming31 | 01 Mar 2012 11:23 a.m. PST |
awsome . 28mm figures look about Zentradi size next to the battle pod . |
JRacel | 01 Mar 2012 11:56 a.m. PST |
What models are you guys using? Are these Japanese kits? My is headed back home to Japan for a few weeks later int he year, so maybe I can get her to pick up some stuff for me . . . . . if I beg a lot . . . . . Jeff |
Greg B | 01 Mar 2012 12:06 p.m. PST |
Almost all of them are 1/200 plastic kits from "Nichimo". A couple of them are plastic "gashapon" toys. I don't think the model kits are in production any more, but you never know. They pop up on EBay every so often. |

Are those the ones from the Palladium RPG? |
Greg B | 01 Mar 2012 1:40 p.m. PST |
@ Angel Barracks – not sure I understand your question. These models are from the same setting that Palladium did an RPG for (Robotech – The Macross Saga), but I don't know that Palladium ever released models
. |

I think Wargamer is referring to the old 1/285 Dark Horse miniatures line back in the mid-80's. They had some Valkryies and other miniatures. I've seen them, once, on ebay. I don't think that a lot were made and I only saw them advertised in the 1st Edition of the Robotech RPG. |

Indeed, just the game no models. In that case
If memory serves. I had a mech in the RPG that was tall and had twin cannons for arms and had some sort of radar thing on its shoulder. Any idea what that is, and do you have a model of it? |
Greg B | 01 Mar 2012 3:54 p.m. PST |
@ Angel Barracks – similar to the ones from this picture?
|
Gunbird | 01 Mar 2012 3:56 p.m. PST |
AB, that would be the RDF Raidar X aka Destroid Defender aka Battletech Rifleman. I think thats all of the aliasses. |
Angel Barracks | 01 Mar 2012 4:04 p.m. PST |
Rifleman! That's him. Ah happy days. Quick responses chaps! oh hang on. I never played Battletech, how would I know that name
.? I am not sure now. Does look a lot like those models, something not quite right though

Greg I've mentioned it before, but I love the work you've done and found it very inspiring. Thanks for the props on here and on your blog. I'm glad you like the stuff I've been doing as much of my madness was directly inspired by your work. It's very cool seeing some larger army shots as many of the older pictures only showed a handful of mechs. I added your blog to my follow list, not sure how I'd missed that before. |

I've got some of the old Dark Horse Zentraedi pods and they're about the same size as the 1/200 plastic kits. I wondered if they may somehow have been castes of them. |

Totally awesome! I am hoping to get a game going soon! Your paintjob on your officer's pod is very nice. It looks like we both have the same number of pods. I feel like I have an adequate number of pods and infantry for any game. I wanted to create some fighters but then I got distracted with my Robotech Soviet mecha project and now I'm sort of drifting back and forth between my Terminator Year of Darkness collection and my Star Blazers game stuff. Any way, nice work. |

Those are way cool! I've been thinking about doing most giant robot combat
|
Spaceman Spiff | 02 Mar 2012 7:06 a.m. PST |
excellent stuff! i recently converted my pods into alien attackers for my Battletech universe. i gave them color schemes inspired by the Covenant alien forces from Halo. i do not have nearly that many, though. most impressive, sir! |

RoboBattleBlastyTech YAY!Your stuff looks very nice.:) I Have eight or ten of the battlepods still in the boxes. I think I plan to you them in 28mm games as either robots os Eldar WarWalkers. Hey Charles, how are you Bro? :) |

Hey Greg and Mike (The Black Android), You guys have been a huge inspiration on me, and the reason why my wallet is a lot lighter :P I've managed to get about 20 Nichimo kits now and have built a few. (That was fun.) Now I gotta learn how to paint hehe. Question is, what's the best way to get 1/200 scale terrain for battles? Buildings for urban setting, or countryside stuff? Thanks! |
mech dude | 23 Apr 2012 2:12 p.m. PST |
Check ebay for N-Scale railroad terrain. Most buildings are fairly cheap. There's some higher end stuff by Kato which comes pre-built and ready to go. Tomix makes a good variety of urban and factory style stuff. There are some paper craft buildings as well which you can download from a lot of differants ites, World Works makes some great items but need to be reduced in size. |

Thanks Mech Dude. I started a big search last night. Found a cool site where I can download papercraft. Would love to have like downtown Tokyo :D |
mech dude | 24 Apr 2012 5:20 p.m. PST |
Here's a shot of the World Works stuff in action, it's does require being scaled down. I've made this stuff in both 1/200 scale and in 1/285th. These are 1/200 scale
And further scaled down to 1/285th
