Hiya,

Just in case you wanted to know what happened after the previous post on our club blog, I've now written up the second week's gaming as the battle fought to a conclusion.

We're fairly loving the Hail Caesar right now. It's dashed handy having a club member with just about every type of army ever.

Looks like it was a fun game. Someone also has a TON of Macedonian cavalry – very cool!

But oh! That font – it hurts uss, Preciousss! ;)

Very much enjoyed the Report and the ebb/flow of the battle. Getting the hang of Hail Caesar and appreciate the subtle nature of the Rules.

Not sure about the value of elephants under the rules and restrictions imposed by some Army Lists – what do you think?

Looks good. Hail Caesar's taking off nicely in my local, too. The good natured spirit of the game inclines one to take more risks than other more power-gamey systems.

Cheers guys!

Darth- yep, I'll take that on board about the font. My posts weren't originally meant to be so wordy, but I guess I like to hear myself rattle. We're really lucky to have so many toys to play with.

Mithridates- I haven't used the Army lists yet- I bought the book yesterday and even then will only be using it for a bit of reference. I haven't used elephants yet, but I've played against them a few times. However useless they might seem when they are being commanded by you, they don't seem poor when heading in your direction! If the army lists impose restrictions that make it hard to field several, then we'll flaunt said restrictions when necessary. None of us are looking to use this set in tournaments.
