Do you? 1. Always 2. Sometimes 3. Never 4. What's a wet palette? In case your answer is 4, here's a thread discussing them: TMP link And here's an interesting tutorial on how to make one. link Privateer Press offers a commercial version, link and various art supply companies make larger versions for artists. Personally, I've never used them, but I plan on trying it at my next painting session: I've got parchment paper, an old clamshell case, and foam, all ready to go. |

I'm a 3 too. Like 000 though, I agree the concept is worth exploring. |

No. I use my thumbnail as a palatte. Once a figure is blocked out I tend to use but a drop of paint at a time for my "fine work" and hence don't worry about paint drying out on me. Working from such a close proximity to my eyes, brush and figure helps control paint flow.. which is what it's all about. |

1, fantastic, save a lot of paint. Very useful painting in Summer in Australia. I just use an old plastic lid, some folded kitchen paper and a square of greaseproof paper on top. ironlegs 10mmnapoleonics.blogspot.com |

Had a gift certificate. Bought the privateer press commercial one for a lark. Has saved me paint, time, and (most important) frustration. I recommend it wholeheartedly. |

1. Always Best thing – ever. Home-made with a pringles lid, and baking paper on top of tissue wadding. Bit of messing about to get it working, but I Will never ever ever ever consider anything less ever again
ever. |

4.5 I don't know what a "Wet pallette" is, but maybe I use it anyway. I use a lot of "techniques" whosae technical names I do not know as the situation requires, and that may be one of them. |

2, depends on what I'm painting. |
Mugwump | 26 Feb 2012 11:26 a.m. PST |
I do but then again I do acrylic paintings to illustrate my role playing games. Matheson is the brand and is available at Micheals. The sponge and paper can be cut down and placed in a smaller plastic container that is shallow or a dish with plastic wrap inbetween sessions. Mugwump |

1 for me, now. It is especially useful when you can only paint a bit at a time and have to let the paint sit for a day. Inside the airtight container, the paint stays good. It's also easier to get motivated when you know your paint is there waiting on you, for me anyway! |
