I was kindly offered a pre-production sample from the newly established miniature company Claymore Castings that is run by David Imrie/Saxon Dog and Andrew Taylor.

Their first range are 28mm Scotts for the Otterburn 1388 Campaign link Sculpted by Paul Hicks. Intended release in april 2012, Salute?

You can read more about my thoughts of the sample and see some size comparison at my blog: dalauppror.blogspot.com link

Best regards Dalauppror

I'd seen these on the Saxon Dog blog and wondered how they fitted in with Perry so thanks for the comparison.

Salute falls on my birthday this year so these are on my list.

It seem like the Claymore Castings minis will be released early…

From the claymorecastings.co.uk site

"We have been amazed at the response to this range of figures. If you are really keen to get your hands on these castings please email us at enquiries@claymorecastings.co.uk and we will send you a pre- order form. We will not be asking for any money until we are ready to post the figures. However, if you fill in the form and send it back to us we will make sure that the people who have pre-ordered get the first available figures.

We would like to thank everyone who has sent in pre-order forms for the new figures. Friday, 2nd March will be the last day to return your pre-order forms as the figures will soon be ready for release. "

So hurry up and send in your pre-order forms:)

Best regards dalauppror

Superb figures and excellent brushwork.

Excellent painting. Even though they are a bit earlier time-wise, I wonder how this line might compare with Ebob's Scots in size and bulk?

The horn or boar-tusk plated helm is interesting--can anyone point me to a reference of its historical authenticity? I've also seen this type of helm depicted in Splintered Light's dark age Scots-Irish range.

The Benty Grange helm was said to constructed partially of horn, but this is the only example I know of, apart from the boar-tusk Mycenaean helms of a much earlier age.
