When wargaming, do you get into character and have a go at imitating the accents of the forces you're commanding?

For example, uzink lotz off zs and vss for zee Germanz in approoffd var-film und Allo Allo style, doing your best Texan/English Aristocratic accent when playing forces from the other side of the Atlantic (as applicable), indulging in Franglais while commandng Napoleon's divisions or perhaps even gangster film Mafioso when playing Romans?

A- Certainly not, how ridiculous!
B- Actually, I think you'll find that's politically incorrect, yah?
C- Yeah, occasionally when with my good friends
D- All the time, it's great fun!

Shock news! TMP not as stuffy as supposed!

Come on John, I'm sure you can do the Sumerian accents if you just try to remember a little further back…..

oh, and dakka dakka dakka kaboom of course

Katzbalger24 Feb 2012 7:29 p.m. PST

Usually--my problem is remembering which accent I'm doing--so there's sometimes lapses.

I hear the voices…

14Bore25 Feb 2012 7:08 a.m. PST

Believe me if I played a group I would, I would. I like to entertain the masses

John the Greater25 Feb 2012 8:05 a.m. PST

Of course, naturally all in good fun.

One of the guys I game with has gone further. One time he wrote an AAR for a FoG game in Greek with the translation of the "ancient text" and posted it on his blog. It got picked up and reposted by someone as if it were real and it generated a long string of serious comment. Needless to say, my buddy found out about it and forwarded the link to all of us. Much hilarity ensured.

Old Slow Trot25 Feb 2012 10:18 a.m. PST

Sometimes. When playing Aerodrome, and flying an SE,Camel, or Snipe, and I blast one of the Kaiser's crew,I'll make like Mick Mannock and go "Flamerino-sizzle,sizzle wonk."

Don196225 Feb 2012 11:03 a.m. PST

Anyone go even further and actually speak in the language of the country I'm leading? I like to throw in French and Russian phrases when I'm commanding armies from those two countries. I've got to learn some Swedish (other than Ga Pa) for an upcoming Great Northern War game.
