Looking good so far. QRF have 15mm quilted shako British foot in their Indian Wars range, both line and command. I don't know sizewise how they will fit. I have a dim reccollection that Dixon do too. |

Well done. What rules are you going to use? |

Prince – Excellent work! Oh – Are you talking about figures from the Maharatta & Sikh Wars range? Regardless, I think a quilted shako would not be quite correct, I've seen pics of Canadians in shakos, but no quilted covers. The figures I found were wearing a quilted shako with a havelock, which would definitely not be correct for the mid 1860s Canadian infantry. Indian Mutiny figures without havelocks might be the answer. While I like the pork pie hat in Prince's pics, those shakos are really cool looking.

Schlesien: Good question, not sure yet.I decided to base everything similar to WRG-guidelines (infantry will be 3 figures on 40x20mm, 2 cavalry on a 40x30mm, and artillery on 40mm square). Units will be 4 bases each, replicating a few companies. I may try the old Fields of Honor, or Neil Thomas' upcoming rules on 19th century warfare, or something entirely different. I will be planning on something simple and fast-play. |

Darryl: I think I may be using the wrong term when I say quilted shako, looking for shakos like the ones above. Additionally, the blues and greens in those photos came out much brighter in the photos (due to lighting) than the actual color on the figures (a dark blue and almost black green). |

Where did you find the figures? Eric |

Eric: The figures are from the Battle Lines (NZ) Maori War range: link The gents in busby are Battle Lines bodies with Eurake Crimean War RHA heads

Darryl I was responding to a comment on PAR's blog that he has now clarified. PAR Just now I looked at my Lancashire Crimean War British the shakoe is a little taller but they might do if you get stuck. Or maybe you could cut them down. |

Do these help at all? link |

Bug-ger – Those are close
one would have to trim off the epaulettes though. Crimean figures are a bit off as well. The Albert shako is a bit different than what was worn in 1866. Splitting hairs I guess, but I would want a figure that was, well, 100% correct, and unlike some, I have no talent (or is it patience?) when it comes to doing modifications. That said, I do admire what Prince has done with his Eureka heads on Battleline bodies
nice! I had a Eureka 300 Club entry for this some time ago, it hit the 600+ mark (according to the website at the time), but then disappeared. 'Tis a shame. |

A nice looking project. These would serve well at the fictional Battle of Dorking 1871 against a German invasion. |

I think I have located suitable 15mm figures for Canadians they look just like Daryl's photo above. Minifigs-what do you think ?.
Is the Shako too tall? A smaller Shako here. link |
