Hey everyone,

I found 4 of the DVD's of Sharpes Rifles on sale and scooped them up.

I got:

Sharpes Rifles
Sharpes Eagle
Sharpes Company
Sharpes Enemy

I would have picked up more, but's that's all they had (in the bargain bin if you could believe that).

My question:

The first two are the beginning of the series, but there is a break between "Eagle" and "Company". I missed a few episodes.

What happened to the character, the tall "chosen man" who wore the black head-covering. I think Sharpe called him a "bible-thumper" in Rifles.

He was in the first-two, then disappeared.

Thanks

Ken

The character is Rifleman Isiah Tongue.

In the books he cashes in his chips in Sharpe's Gold but just disappears in the series - victim of budget no doubt.

I think he turns up again in one of the last programmes. And none of the other chosen men ask him where he's been for the last 2 years! :)

Thanks Desert Rat. I know it was a small thing, but I liked his character.

He, the actor Paul Trussell used to go to my pub. He was in The Railway Children and The King's Speech and did all right for himself in theatre.

He, the actor Paul Trussell used to turn up at my pub with the rather attractive Jenny Agutter. He was in The Railway Children and The King's Speech and did all right for himself in theatre.
