Mike,

When will the book come out? I want one now?! :)

Exactly what does it cover? Obviously above but action along Emmittsburg to Peach Orchard too?

Right now we're working on the maps. It is scheduled for the Fall release, the winter at the latest.

The person to contact is Jim Glessner at the American History Store on Baltimore street in Gettysburg or at jim@tenroadspublishing.com.

It covers everything from the arrival of the troops on the field on the evening of July 1 through Cemetery Ridge, The Wheat field, The Devil's Den, The Peach Orchard, Pitzer's Woods, and Little Round Top all on battalion level.

The maps are very detailed, as usual and I think the reader will get a very good narrative on what happened there. I have also included the fighting around Codori's in the evening.

Thanks, Margard …

Mike,

Whoa… I want this badly. I have your Antietam and South Mountain books and LOVED them. I can't wait to read the new one. If it is half as good as those… Sold!

Will you let us know when it comes out in case we are half asleep when it does?

Thanks,

Don

Mike,

Are you going to Cold Wars?

John Michael Priest21 Feb 2012 5:32 a.m. PST

As of now, unless an unanticipated family matter arises, I will be running 2 games on Saturday and 1 on Sunday. Mike

Wow, sounds like a must-have. I've read Ellwood Christ's book on the Bliss Farm, but yours sounds much more comprehensive.

John Michael Priest21 Feb 2012 6:49 a.m. PST

There's a lot of detail in it about the Bliss farm, Pitzer's Woods, the gorge between Little Round Top and the Devil's Den. I tried not to leave any stones unturned.

"the gorge between Little Round Top and the Devil's Den"

Mike,

Hey, that's a LOT of stones there! ;)

John Michael Priest21 Feb 2012 9:54 a.m. PST

LOTTA ROCKS!

About the 6th NJ and 40th NY, 48th ALa and 44th ALA also Smith's Battery.

avidgamer21 Feb 2012 11:05 a.m. PST

I'd like to see you uncover those BIG rocks just below Smith's battery (to its left flank) though. That I'd pay to see. :)

The NPS would be very upset for anyone trying to do that. Has something to do with illegal blasting on Federal property.

avidgamer21 Feb 2012 12:32 p.m. PST

You are a famous author. Can't you just lift the rocks with the power of your pen?! What are pens for nowadays?! It ain't writing books. You do that with a key board, right?

John Michael Priest21 Feb 2012 12:41 p.m. PST

The pen is mightier than I thought.

Bottom Dollar04 Mar 2012 1:21 p.m. PST

Cool stuff. Congrats on the new book !

cwbuff05 Mar 2012 6:32 p.m. PST

Rats! Something else that is a must have from my limited pension dollars. I look forward to its release.

John Michael Priest07 Mar 2012 9:51 a.m. PST

I'm working on the maps now. Revising and using color. How about contacting Jim Glessner at Ten Roads Publishing on Facebook to get more info. for possible release date? Mike

Paint Pig07 Mar 2012 3:04 p.m. PST

Perhaps the ACWRT of Queensland would like to make themselves known as a google search leads to a number of dead ends.
