I like this model, but don't understand well if exist or not. The tittle said only "Rusia" and move me to ask how many chances had a tank with rubber wheels instead of steel chains in a modern war.
Do you consider that those big wheels as an advantage or on the contrary a disadvantage in a battlefield?
What about the AA at the back?. Any protection for the anti aircraft gunners?

Realism be damned---that is so cool! \\

My guess is it's a kit bash of at least two, maybe 3 models.

But it's so col!

I don't think it's a real tank.

There are planty of wheeled AFVs in current use in Afghanistan.

That's a nice vehicle…wouldn't mind having one for my post Apocalyptic Russkies!

It may have problems cornering at speed.

Nope, doesn't exist. Someone got real busy with a handful of kits (nicely done, though).

Definitely a 'bitsa' according to the blog comments.

Maybe Tom, I don't remember, but want to ask about the possibilities about a tank with rubber wheels.

Wheels will be faster on pavement, and also a lot quiter. It will have a lot of trouble carrying a large amount of armor, it just is not good for that. If in the same weight class it will suck in off road performance compared to a track of the same weight class.

I was in the first brigade to change over to strikers. one of the things that happened was a contest between a M-113 and a striker to check out the performance. On road wheels ruled. Off road they sucked. Particularly in very soft going.

But that does look like a cool model.

The dodgy AAA mount on the back has a real precedent – one of the Soviet stands at a Defense show had the same mount strapped on top of one of the 4 or 6 wheel APC's, the picture should be kicking arounf the 'Net somewhere.

Plenty of 23mm AAA on the backs of numerous types of Soviet vehicles from the 80s onwards MT-LBs and 2.5t trucks were/are the most common, used for convoy protection in Afghanistan and for reaching the tops of buildings in Grosny

The Vextra 105 might be one of the closest 'real' AFVs – 8x8 and a tank sized gun.

Wouldn't setting off reactive armor blow out it's own tires?
