Thought I'd post a few pics of my first attempt at both Victrix Austrians and the older French set. This is a new project/blog recently underway and just over 100 figures completed so a long way to go. Came here looking for uniform info and glad I did!

Heres a few pics and the link to my new blog. It's a little bit different as I'm painting 28mm Napoleonics again by way of therapy after a breakdown! So far it's working.

Lee,

Thanks for sharing all this, both the great and inspirational painting and the story behind it. Hang on in there!

Naps give most people breakdowns. I am glad you find painting them helpful. Best wishes.

Thanks for the comments guys, much appreciated. I can see a few errors such as cuff details etc, but I'm not a true 'purist' more 'old school' wargamer. But this site is full of great info so I have no excuse really!

mollinary, glad you could understand why I started the blog, I was concerned it could drive some readers away but I wanted to put this project into perspective and sitting painting figures again has really been beneficial as I begin my recovery. Four months ago I was as close to the edge as I would ever want to be, so I count myself lucky that I got help when I desperately needed it. Anyway, on a positive note I want this collection to grow to be the one I have promised myself for 30+ years! All the best, and thanks.

Grambo, thanks for the inspirational post/blog. Other are staring into the abyss and can see by your example that it is possible to start afresh. Interesting, the Austrians suffered many defeats, but were never really defeated…they came back time and again. I look forward to seeing more of your painting, you have a talent.

Really nice work on both the Austrians and French. Keep up the great work. Best, Dean

Thank you Condotta and DeanMoto.

I have updated the blog with the latest Austrian unit, a Uhlan unit, plus some other new images ….. and things are slowly improving for me. If it helps just one other person who suffers from chronic depression to see a way forward then my blog has been worthwhile :-)

Front Rank Austrian lancers and the now fully based up French Dragoons. I'm now focusing on the Victrix plastics again for a while as I build up my infantry units.

Thanks. Blog link at top of thread.
