I am curious how others are painting Alexander's Argyraspides/Silver Shields? Are you doing silvered shields with a Macedonian insignia or some other shield pattern that has a bit of silver?

I have done silvered shields, using Crusader Miniatures Macedonian cast shields.

I used the Crusader shields too – cut off the existing cast-on ones on some Foundry figures.

Using a tip from a blog – I sprayed both the figures and shields with silver paint link . The shields were given a light wash of black to bring out the details.

Mind you, these are for later Successor armies – like Seleucid; not sure how elaborately dressed Alexander's would've been. Best, Dean

I favor white or silver shields with the typical 8 rayed star in a contrasting color.

I do like the look of the Crusader shields. However, on the down side, it makes my Relic figs more expensive though.
