Having dug out my old 15mm Heritage French army and acquired a Naismith British army (Naismith make a good size match for Heritage btw), I'm trying to 'fill in' some of the gaps (lost troops, troops that have died in storage/transit, and those who were just never there in the first place).

Looking at my Middle Guard Fusilier-Chasseurs. Sadly not in Naismith's line up. At a push I'm guessing that I could add a few line Voltigeurs into the lines and disguise them with the same colour scheme. But what do I do for command (flag, drum and officer)? Any suggestions welcome, both for troops and command – are line Voltigeurs the best bet?

I would prefer to match them from the Naismith range (as I've already mentioned size wise they look just right next to the Heritage figures), plus I hope to be sending Navwar a small order soon (saving on postal charges would be a bonus)
Regards

The most challenging thing about this project is that the Fusilier Chasseurs wore light infantry uniforms, but with pointed cuffs, and line infantry-type gaiters.

If you can find some light infantry figures in shako, wearing long trousers, you can get past most of that challenge. If the figures wear round cuffs with cuff flaps, file them down and just paint on the pointed cuffs.

Line voltigeurs might work, but you have to make sure that the square lapels are concealed by belting.

Thanks for that – shouldn't be a problem with my (poor) painting skills. Blob of paint will hide everything!

Any ideas for a command group? Would a YG command group provide me with an officer, ensign(probably not the correct term but it sounds better than 'man with flag') and drummer with plummed shako?
