What Colour were the 4.7" guns painted?

Whilst I'm thinking of it, what Colour where Boer guns painted.

Good question

Based on what I could find would speculate that 4.7"' were light grey carriage black iron barrel Boer guns were dark grey

I was just putting my Boer War MiniFig 4.7 naval gun into service with RN troops in VBCW so looking up info.
My Danish is not so good, but good pics here

I seem to remember reading somewhere that they were painted a khaki color of some sort but I can't find my reference.
