Is it possible, or can it be made possible, to count the number of visits by other TMP-ers to each TMP thread, even if the viewer choses not to comment on the thread?

Like the 'number of visitors' seen at the end of some webpages.

In the. left column, just above the copyright notice:
"xx hits since …"

Never saw it or cared, UNTILL NOW! So now I will have to go back and add up all MY hits to OP's I made. Someday.

<466 now.
Someone really ought to graph the number of hits versus time, because that would be a real time waster.
Then throw some calculus at the fata for something even more meaningless.

Captain dEwell12 Feb 2012 3:19 a.m. PST

Fascinating. Does this number include the occassions the poster or previous viewers re-visit the page or just entirely new watchers?

Thanks

D'Ewell

It counts you every hit. I was 538 and 539. About as scientific a test as I can run at 0228 in the morning.

John – getting Copnnard to make a pass at your granma was pretty poor, but throwing calculus at you fata is worse!

A web hit is a file download, so a person loading a webpage could create multiple "hits" if it has images etc on the page – every file download from the server is a hit.

So is the counter on the left actually "hits" or is it actually pageviews?

Also now I know it's there you can tell if you have a question to ask and there are only a couple of replies but hundreds of hits, you know the same feeling when Jeff Probst says "I have nothing for you" and you have to go back to your hovel without any goodies.
