Inspired by the "Rebel Minis: 15mm Pirates Released" news story I would like to know what would be, in all your humble opinions, the best rule set to use these with? And please explain why. |

We played "Prevailing Winds" from Thoroghbred Miniatures and enjoyed the games. At that time we were recreating sea battles during the War of 1812, using the Thoroughbred 15mm ships and crew. We had a couple of Old Glory ships too. The rules are simple enough to give you a quick game and not bog you down with super details, but it gave us a good feel of manuevering a sailing ship, plus crew. I'm thinking of getting the rebel minis pirates and using these rules. Joep |

For the sailing rules, I agree that Prevailing Winds, or Sailpower would work quite well for you. Peter Pig's, Pieces of Eight, would work, if you want to do stands of them, like in other wargames. For skirmish, some of the simple, free ones would work, e.g. Limeys & Slimeys, and various other rules. Check the message archives for Pirate Rules, and you'll get a ton of suggestions. |

They're a bit fanciful, but would add nice character to an FOG:R Buccaneer army. I picked up a bunch from Blue Moon that I may supplement with these and use in Sailpower. |
