I am looking for some suitable models of Zeppelins for 1:2400 Naval battles.

My airplanes are tumbling dice 1:600 – Guess I am looking at either scale

I was told Tumbling Dice made some but I can't find them

Panzerschiffe makes one, but it sits on it's own base low to the water, rather than being something that one would suspend on a thin stand:

Perhaps in late summer you could make a very temporary zeppelin out of a zuchini squash. Might last a day or two…

Seriously, Navwar makes a 1:3000 scale L57 class zeppelin. It would probably be about the right size to represent a smaller early war zeppelin in 1:2400 scale. No pictures, but here is a link:

They also do some "Coastal" close airships (same link). The airships wouldn't be too far off from the ships in scale terms, but would be small next to the planes.

A 1:600 Zepplin though will be a bit big. Just because I have the numbers to hand lets take the biggest – the Hindemburg, ~800 feet long. In 1:600 scale it will be 16inches long. That's big.

Even WW1 airships are big – 500feet, your 1:600 scale zeppelin will be 10inches long.

If you do really want 1:600th then this is probably your best bet :

It's 1:720, but that's ok because it takes your Hindemburg down to a smaller airship – about 670 feet long, ok in size for a mid-WW1 airship. Now, it doesn't look quite right, but there's not a lot else on the market.

It's about 13inches long.

I'd go easy with the Navwar zep; the thing is badly misshaped. It can be made to to resemble a zep, but only after a lot of work with a file.

I think the Panzerschiffe 1:2400 zeppelin gets knife and file treatments from modellers in order to remove that base.

Mmmmm thanks Warren – I did try that with my Panzerschiffe Zepplin – it ended up looking a bit like the Hindenburg after I broke it into 3 pieces!!!

Superglue has helped a little but I may use it as a template to make a Zepplin out of Milliput. Then I might create a whole fleet of Derigables (or just a bunch of bananas)

Might have to set up an operation like this:

That was linked in the biplanes section of this WW1 forum. Looks like 1:144 scale to be used with Wings of War. Probably could scale that operation down by a factor of 16.67 to make a fleet of zeppelins in 1:2400 scale.
