Down at the FLGS, somebody ran a game. New figures, new rules for us, and a bunch of people from other groups, I suppose a dozen or so around the table. Lots of noise--How do we do this? OK, I've rolled an 11, what now? Subtract armor value, perform convoluted equation. I'm watching some fighting to the left, trying to hear how they are figuring their combat results. Some guy on the other side of the table gets my attention to say he just fired and his dice roll wiped out my whole unit. Say what? You couldn't be bothered to get my attention before doing that? I realize I don't hear as well as I did once upon a time, but I'm not deaf.

Of course, sitting here typing this, I realize I should have said something like, "Whoa, who is that hot chick behind you?" Put out the old boxcars, then said "Wow! My saving throw means your RPG misfired and killed your commander and trashed his APC." Or something like that. Naturally, at the time, I didn't know what to say.

Have any of you had problems like this? What did you do? Is this sort of behavior common? Like I say this was a guy who normally games with other groups. I think I will make sure I don't have to game with him again.

Relax and enjoy the game usually covers it.

I agree, relax and enjoy the game. But still, a little common courtesy from other players please! My rule of thumb as GM for sneaky dice rollers is to require that they re-roll. If they got all hits once, they can do it again. wink

If the guy is an Bleeped text, stop playing with him, if he isnt, take him on trust.
