YouTube link Saw you tube video of what looks like 28mm compatible metal figures to go with Lego like blocked ships
interesting shame you can't see the detail in the video |

My son loves the mega blocks. But why do I (we) want them in Die cast? |

I found the Megablocks Marvel Hero figures to be rather flimsy. I'd be weary of the Megablocks Halo figures. |

They are not as solid as the Lego miniatures, but have much more articulation. My son has a ton of the little guys. For the most part they have stood up to many hours of play. |

@HornetsNestMinis The Halo Universe models will be smaller, unbuilt versions of the Mega Bloks Halo stuff, accompanied by diecast infantry. They might therefore have a bigger appeal for wargamers. |

Sounds good depending on price – although can't access links from work to check them out

Are these different from the 1/100 line that was announced recently? I thought it was going to be produced by Macfarlane. |

@Ivan DBA Two different approaches: HALO UNIVERSE from Maga Bloks has the scaled down (but still larger than 1/100, watch the YouTube clip) versions of their Halo blok kits, McFarlane Toys will do a range called HALO MICRO OPS in 1/100 (15mm). |

The Mega Blok diecast are out now at Wal-Mart. The figure packs run $6 USD a piece and the vehicle packs $10. USD First impressions, figures not very good looking. Detail is "blobby". On scale 1-10, about a 4. The vehicles are better, but not by much. On scale 1-10, about 5(Banshee) and 6(Warthog). Personally, I wouldn't use them to game with. Definitely look like toys. Would require too much extra work to be visually appealing on a gameboard. If you're considering getting these to game with, I'd recommend waiting for the release of McFarlane's Halo Micro Ops. |
