A recent commission job. These are all quick snaps taken just after finishing each model. They're unbased because the client will be sorting that out. All are Artizan Designs models except for the half model which might be Warlord or something.
Got a little tutorial too on how I did the oak leaf camo.

The paintjob is just great! But
They never wore SS camo. Sorry, Burkhard |

Thanks for the comments all. @14th Brooklyn: Well the models are Artizan's Panzer Lehr but the client is using them as SS panzer crew. I just didn't think when posting the thread. ;) |

@abelp01: I clipped off the excess around the feet and then just filed what was left down to the soles. It was quite a bit of hassle to be honest as I don't have any kind of powertool. At least they're not cast in pewter. |

In that case they are fine! |

Awesome paintjob, but the officer in the trenchcoat's trousers is in oakleaf camo which they never came in. I've only ever seen them in peadot pattern. Sorry for being such a camo nazi. |

That's OK WW2Fanatik, I was working to a client's specifications, although there is an example of a pair of reversible trousers in spring/summer oakleaf in one of my reference books. Thanks again for the comments all. I'm very tempted to paint up my own WW2 Germans that have been sitting prepped but unloved for the past 6 years. |

Fantastic paint job, amazing thanks for sharing, it's this kind of work that makes people (especially the new public) really understand what 28mm wargaming is all about! Keep up the great work!!! |

Was asked to do a couple more models to go with these. Again, panzer crew not Panzer Lehr. Pics are a bit rough but I'll do better ones later.

That's some really amazing painting. I pride myself on my painting skills, but this puts mine to shame. How many shades do you use on the faces? The blending looks really smooth. |

Cheers Snodi :D I don't tend to count the number of layers unless I'm trying to demonstrate something in particular but I can share my colour recipe. Base colour was GW Tallarn Flesh (not sure what that's called now) mixed with a little bit of GW Calthan Brown (again, not sure of the new name). The first highlight layer was pure Tallarn Flesh, then I began adding VGC Bonewhite to the mix to produce the lighter highlights. A few of these intermediate shades were applied until pure Bonewhite was being used on the most raised areas. A little bit of white added to the Bonewhite can be useful if you think the model needs that one lighter layer just on the nose, brow etc. Like I say, I'm not sure how many of those intermediate layers of highlight colours I used but it can't have been too many just on faces and hands. Three might do it and then use pure Bonewhite as a fourth. One way to get that smooth finish is to lightly feather the edge of the layer of paint when you apply it. Hope some of that helps. :) |
