PDF link Scroll down to page 6. Apparently, you can buy for 120 points a Komissar who can REALLY shoot the snot out of a Soviet company that fails a Motivation test. There is the possibility of 18 hits from the Maxim guns, plus the one from Vasilevsky's own pistol. Knowing how I roll saves
Slava Bogu, why would I want to pay 120 points for THAT???? |

It's only one d6 that is used to determine casualties. He gives extra rolls for company and platoon morale checks, plus it's an HMG platoon. |

I think I'd rather have a Battalion Komissar. If he rolls a 1, can the company shoot HIM? |

Comrade, it is obvious that you are not a loyal Party member. It is also painfully obvious that you are a defeatist and a sell out to the fascist dogs that plague and stain our beloved Rodina. Vasilevsky's Blocking Detachment has saved our beloved leader's city from being overrun with fascist vermin. I just got off the phone with The Boss and he would like to have a word with you
After that, report to the Shtraf Batalon for reassignment. |

I see him just as a fun option. I mean, not that slaughtering your own troops is fun
But yeah I'd only ever take him if I was screwing around with Conscripts. |

And thats it then
. uisng the large human wave army is when you would use him
or possibly a Shtraf army. I like the flavor the warriors bring to the game. I take them whenever possible. |

When I was building a Militia list, I included him, but I haven't bought the unit yet. :) |

He was my secret weapon when I was playing a conscript infantry force. IF one of your companies fails a motivation roll, AND if they fail a commissar reroll, THEN Vasilevsky gives them another reroll- IF they fail that, THEN they take D6 hits that can be saved and are automatically pinned, ie they never ever run away. Its been years since I've played FOW, and I think that was how itworked. IIRC their motivation rolls and saves were both 3+. This makes them incredibly hard for your opponent to get them off the tabletop. Plus you get the commander reroll, and they've got good 'flavour'. My opponents liked me taking them because of the perceived risk of me killing my own guys, but the look on my opponent's face when they gradually realise they just don't have the firepower to deal with all of you is pure gold. |

Ahhhhhhhh
So, he is yet another Motivation roll, and by pinning the cowardly unit he is encouraging, it prevents them from being removed? Plus, he gets the 3 HMG to shoot at Huns with. I'll have to try that. |

And a unit which is designed to kill your own side is just so fun I might have to get some Russians just to have it! ;-) Actualy the Russians are olne of my favourite armies and are next on my list. Fatman |

He get sthe forst rero;ll as if the Batt Co was there – then if it fails roll the company Kommissar and if that fails apply the MG dice! He gives the CO an effective range of 54 " |
