1.) set on the table, so they are 'skimming' the ground 2.) based on a peg, so they are obviously flying? If #2 – what options are there? I'm not overly fond of the clear plastic flight stands, but what else is there? |

I've used Pony beads to hold them "just off" the table |

I've tried transparent clear bases, looked interesting, but they were slippery on hills

If they are really good grav vehicles, you don't need to base them. |

Something along the lines of Saber6. |

That is why you should only use tracked vehicles. Of course then you get into rather to base or not. |

I quite like the system by Critical Mass Games. Sort of a low flying stand with a base. |

Depends on the scale. I see this is on the 15mm board, but unfortunately I only play sci-fi in smaller or larger sizes. In 6mm, I use a short opaque rod to a ground textured/painted base. At that scale and skimming height, you can only really see the rod when holding the tank at eye level – so rarely during play. In 28mm, I normally use a GW-style flying stand, but am considering replacing the transparent base section with a normal ground base (keeping the transparent rod). |

I've heard about a guy who used a couple rare-earth magnets and some fishing line to have a harrier model in take-off from an LHA, but you would really have to monkey with the balancing to get a maglev base to work on a larger scale. |

Its not. And don't call me Shirley. Trev, over at The Bits Box link Did a nice base for his Sworlds World grav vechicles. Wondering if there is a similar product on the market, if its more of a DIY project. |

Most of the gamers around here use Omni-Stands. They paint the rods black and it looks really good. They either use 1" or 1.5" rods. Depends on the size of the vehicle. We also have a large selection of bases available. corseceng.com/omni-stand One of the guys is using prototype Clear Omni-Stand Rods. We had hoped to have them on the market by now but some interesting problems showed up in production. Still working out the bugs. Jonathan Bowen CorSec Engineering corseceng.com |

Here is a pic of my Antenociti 15mm Grav Tank.
I mount them on a wooden disk base with a Brass Tube(3/32 diameter) for support. Very sturdy. |

I concur about what Only Warlock recommends, using a small bit of brass rod looks great since you won't notice it unless you actually are looking underneath the vehicle. Slightly off topic, but I love that witch that you have on your heavy grav tank Only Warlock. |

Hah thanks! My wife is a cartoonist and actually made me three wet transfer decals for my Heavy Gravs. That tank is "Witchy Woman"and she's a redhead. The others are "Black Cat"-Brunette in a skimpy cat costume and "Hell's Belle"- a Blonde in a Skimpy Devil Costume with Pitchfork. |
