What do you think will be the main trends in the hobby this year?. My predictions: 1.) Many gamers buying more lead than they will manage to paint. 2.) Many gamers buying more plastic than they will manage to paint. 3.) Many gamers buying more resin than they will manage to paint. 4.) Many gamers buying more rulesets than they will manage to play. 5.) Many gamers buying more reference books than they will manage to read. |

GW will continue to raise prices – with people leaving them daily but will still have profitable returns. 15mm scifi will continue to grow – Terrain especially! 15mm Fantasy will also get more love – probably when the Hobbit gets released Oh and the John Carter movie will cause a lot of Barsoom(forgive me if that is wrong) gaming. Rapid prototype stuff will be use a lot more. |

You know, sometimes I think we are all out of undiscovered 'big things'. What I hope the trends are: 28mm Sci Fi 28mm Modern Urban Zombies (not pike and shot zombies or anything) Napoleonics so I can justify some of the new Perry Austrians Like I suspect most gamers do, I really hope whatever I'm interested in becomes the next big thing. |

Wow, you must have been reading my mind! I just posted this in another thread: link All we need now is for these to be done up in Finecast and we're set. |

I saw a rapid prototype plastic printer for $1,750. USD I might actually think of purchasing one – once I figure out how to design some 3D models to print! |

Cheap 3D printers with durable resins. Then we will see the first 3D soldiers. Napoleonics? I predict that the printers will come in below $1,000 USD, but that the resin will not be much cheaper than metal or plastic. The software will also not be cheap. Maintenance will NOT be cheap, and will be very demanding. ("But look how much money I am saving!") Basically, they will be no cheaper than what we are used to, but the "dial a scale" feature will be Way Cool. Gamers will find to their shock that a 25mm figure has far more volume than 140% of a 15mm figure. Then, there will be a IP case involving, oh, say, Star Wars or Barsoom which will bankrupt ssomebody. The "But I WANT IT!" crowd will weep and gnash their teeth, as usual, when some "hobbyist" is shot by an elite IP SWAT team. |

I don't think that there will be any 'new' eras or big games that come out. I think that the most $$$ movement is for games already out there.

Are there any major historical movies planned? That will usually set off a new rush for figures. |

It WILL BE 18 mm Musketeers. It will. Honest. Just you watch. And there will be some fine Paris and provincial buildings to go along with this. And ALL of the characters in mounted and dismounted poses as well as military and civilian poses. |

Is that heroic 18mm or diminuitive 18mm and can I use WWII germans in camo smocks as musketeers? |

And if I put big round ears on them can I use them as Mouseketeers? Eric |
