WOW! That is some really awesome stuff there. Are the imperials all mechwarrior scale too? It sounds like you do a lot of sculpting. Are you using Shapeways or what?

Great news! I've bookmarked your blog.

That's great news :) Your converted MWclix pics were what first inspired me to get into small scale scifi again. Looking forward to the blog!

LordNth09 Feb 2012 6:17 p.m. PST

Best of luck with the blog Spaceman.

@ Tom: yes. from time to time you'll see something Star Wars pop up in some of my pics. i like to throw little curve balls to see if people are really looking….
what is Shapeways? is that a 3-D printer? i'll have to put that on my Christmas list. until then, i am doing my sculpting the old fashioned way- hand tools and clay. it is quite possible i will do a step-by-step on my blog.
thanks for the comments, guys! and a big thanks if you are following my blog!

Spiff,

The scratchbuilds, conversions, and construction tutorials would be some of the most helpful in my mind. I still recall the Sci-fi tank you made with blue insulation foam. I think it was one your first pictures.

Do you still scrachbuild using blue foam, or have you moved on to other materials?

Thanks

Thanks

Spaceman Spiff10 Feb 2012 11:46 a.m. PST

i have moved on to much more durable, and best of all, cast-able material. pretty soon i am going to attempt having some limited castings made of whatever i decide to sculpt next…i can't believe somebody remembered the blue board tanks. that seems like ages ago…hehehe!

as for tutorials, i am going to try to make up my first vid this weekend. what of, i have not decided yet. i am certainly motivated by the positive responses i've gotten from everybody here, though.

I'm not a fan of Battletech, but your stuff is really inspiring. Your scratch-sculpted Star Wars ships are phenomenal! I especially love the E-Wing.
