Good use of lots of scum. "Tell you what, we'll let you keep your freedom if you fight Romans". What a choice: slavery or almost certain death. Still, at least you get to take a few of the hated tax farmers with you…

Nicely done. It's satisfying to dig down into the spares box and use figures that would otherwise never see the light of day. And cost effective!

Just finishing off some medium Pontic 'civic militia' archers for Hail Caesar – mix of MIR Romans, Sasanids and a Mithril Miniatures chap who seems just right for the town mayor (whatever they may have been called in sunny Pontus).

Next up are some surplus Warlord armoured Celts, Eureka warriors and Warlord Celtic standard bearer who join forces as an imitation legion with Classical Miniatures officers ('captured' eagle standard to go with them).

More grist for the Pontic mill – it never ends.

I like those a lot. I would presume that most slaves in Pontos would have been Anatolian or from around the Black Sea so paler features, but yours do look good.

Came across this thread the other day, on the French WAB Forum, nice to see fascination with Mithridates is not confined to us Anglo-Saxons!
