This is all I've found on that political alliance:

The second link implies China, India and Pakistan are members. The first link mentions Middle East as well.

QUESTION:

Are there any Trek subject matter experts who can enlighten me a little more on that faction?

Thanks,

Dan
PS. I'm not all that familiar with the ST universe, other than the usual info from the films and franchise shows.

Is there much more to say? It is just filling in background info on how Khan came to power in the late 20th Century. The original series assumed in cold war thought that such power blocks would happen and set off a global war in the late 20th century. Of course, the war didn't happen and the Warsaw pack collapsed. However, later movies and series (TV, books, games) had to pay homage to this "known" fact of the universe.

Interestingly, the movie reboot was done in such a way with an alternate timeline that such "errors" could be corrected if desired. Also interesting that the original series wasn't shy at all about the cold war rhetoric. China (Romulans), India (Khan), and Russia (Klingons) and Nazi Germany are bad guys. Japan (Vulcans) and UK (Scotty) are our steadfast friends. By the time of "First Contact" it was unacceptable business wise (selling movie tickets) to pick on China, Russia, or India, so China and India become the ECON and Klingons are our friends.
