I would think that someone has asked this before but are there any good sources on actual ship to ship boarding actions concerning pirates versus pirate or other vessels? I want something with details on the hows if possible. Thanks. sky |

Grappling hooks to lash the ships together. Anything else is pure Hollywood. And, that is why your swashbuckling rules should account for it! Pirate gaming is not for the bricole and rivet counters. |

There are some boarding actions described fairly well in "Autobiography of a Seaman" by Thomas, Tenth Earl of Dundonald. He is a bit of a self publicist so take a little salt with some of his descriptions. This is the nearest I've seen to pirate action described by one who fought in it. x42 |
