So I got the flu, it's in the early stages, but I got an unmistakable flu headache I get before it breaks out, so I expect tomorrow will not a be a good day,

And I doubt I can paint tomorrow.

So the question is how sick do you have to be before you stop to paint,

1. Headache?
2. Sore throut
3, Fever
4. Rapedly spreading Necrotizing fasciitis
5. Mad cow disease
6. Ebola
7. Adromeda strain
8. Rampading nano bots
9. massive genetic mutation following nuklear blast
10. Alien egg in you stomach about to burst through your chest.

7 and 10 for sure

3, Fever

Farstar07 Feb 2012 4:43 p.m. PST

Vertigo, blurry vision, light sensitivity, random consciousness loss, and/or sufficiently achey joints that sitting hunched under a lamp will cause pain are enough to stop me.

dglennjr07 Feb 2012 4:53 p.m. PST

When I take one of the miniatures and throw it across the room, it's time to stop painting as I'm too sick.

As I am now

Viral infection in balance sensors in the ears!

vtsaogames07 Feb 2012 5:12 p.m. PST

I can stop painting while quite healthy. I do it all the time.

Grizzlymc07 Feb 2012 5:14 p.m. PST

I find 6 slows me down a little.

So does good weather, free wine, Argentinian tourists.

OldGrenadier Fezian07 Feb 2012 5:37 p.m. PST

Once you decide that you just don't feel up to it, no matter how much you want to. I just got back from there with a sinus infection.

When I put my back out I couldn't paint…granted I could barely move and was taking so many drugs I was spaced out to.

Tazman4968407 Feb 2012 5:41 p.m. PST

My guess would be projectile vomiting….. not good for the final coat…….

religon07 Feb 2012 5:45 p.m. PST

I was sick most of January. I actually painted more as I was working half days. It really didn't slow my painting down.

cavcrazy07 Feb 2012 6:16 p.m. PST

Well if number 10 happens to me, maybe the alien will help me to paint my figures.

Titchmonster07 Feb 2012 6:26 p.m. PST

DEAD

CPBelt07 Feb 2012 6:31 p.m. PST

It's a hobby for me, not work, so I only paint when I feel like painting instead of doing something else. I guess that puts me at a 1. Yes, I am pathetic! grin

Mr Elmo07 Feb 2012 6:36 p.m. PST

Dizzy: it's hard to paint properly if everything is spinning.

Garand07 Feb 2012 7:36 p.m. PST

Dunno. I'm sick right now, and trying to motivate myself to do at least a little bit…

Damon.

I get migranes and they pretty much put me out of commission. A bad cold with all teh associated aches and pains will do it to.

Frederick Supporting Member of TMP07 Feb 2012 7:59 p.m. PST

Loss of a limb would slow me down a bit

Jana Wang07 Feb 2012 8:48 p.m. PST

Headache… as it will be eyestrain. If it's the flu I'm usually not capable of sitting upright enough to paint.

Syrinx007 Feb 2012 9:13 p.m. PST

2+ and I am reading, surfing the web or sleeping. 4+ I am at the hospital.

basileus6607 Feb 2012 11:27 p.m. PST

Nothing too fancy. A simple headache does a nice excuse for me to avoid painting.

rct7500108 Feb 2012 1:05 a.m. PST

STD?

abelp0108 Feb 2012 3:54 a.m. PST

1, I can't concentrate with a headache.

skinkmasterreturns08 Feb 2012 4:15 a.m. PST

I once painted while I had pneumonia.I couldnt lie down anyway.

flicking wargamer08 Feb 2012 6:50 a.m. PST

Right now, the thought that I could be sick in a week might get me to not paint.

taskforce5808 Feb 2012 7:01 a.m. PST

I only paint when I am 100%.

Is 9 even possible for a miniatures painter? With all the metal figures – even if they were not made of lead – you'd think they would have kept the radiation dosage below mutation level.

ming3108 Feb 2012 7:19 a.m. PST

When I get the shakes and cannot see .

richarDISNEY08 Feb 2012 8:48 a.m. PST

If I can paint though of my hang overs, I can paint through anything.
beer

Buff Orpington08 Feb 2012 10:27 a.m. PST

If my nose is dripping on to the figure I stop.

Lardie the Great08 Feb 2012 11:02 a.m. PST

I'm with buff, if my nose is dripping then I call it a day, unless I'm painting something like terrain.

corporalpat08 Feb 2012 7:49 p.m. PST

Sleep when you're dead! There is no illness or condition known to humankind I have not painted/gamed through.

epturner08 Feb 2012 9:01 p.m. PST

Since I work for The Man, you need to define Illness better, as I just worked on 50 Old Glory US Regulars for the War of 1812.

Illness, it's not just physical…

Hope you feel better.

Eric
